What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website saves in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, do the same job. This page explains which ones this site and its partners use.
Types we use
- Essential. Needed for the site to work, for example protecting forms against abuse. They do not need consent.
- Preferences (local storage). Remember your lesson progress, quiz results and cookie choice in your own browser. They are not sent to our servers.
- Advertising. Set by Google and its partners when you see ads from Google AdSense, to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure results and prevent fraud. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, personalised advertising cookies are used only if you consent.
- Analytics (optional). If Google Analytics is enabled, it runs only after you press Accept in the banner.
Changing your choice
- Use the “Privacy and cookie settings” control shown by the Google consent message (EEA, UK and Switzerland) to review or withdraw consent.
- Clear this site’s cookies and storage in your browser settings to reset the analytics banner.
- Manage personalised ads at adssettings.google.com.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser. The tools and lessons keep working without them, although ads may be less relevant and lesson progress will not be remembered.
